Amitabh Bachchan has won the award for best actor (Male) for Paa, at the Nokia 16th Annual STAR Screen awards. His portrayal of Auro, who has a degenerative disease, Progeria has won him a world of acclaim. The 67-year-old actor was in fine form essaying the character of a 12-year old in the film. Everyone shared a light moment when he did the ‘Auro dance’ on stage.
Big B is the best actor for his incredible contribution in the film Paa. He has achieved mastery over acting and he is superb in every department of acting. Bachhan graciously accepted the award from son Abhishek and daughter-in-law, Aishwarya. He modestly thanked Director, R. Balki and gave due credit to his make-up artists who had worked hard on bringing about the look of Auro. Vidya Balan, also won the best actress award for the film, for playing Auro’s mother.
The Nokia 16the Annual STAR Screen Awards saw it all – tension, excitement and anxiety. It was time for those who have put in hard work last year gone by to let their hair down and enjoy themselves. A spectacular and electrifying show with star presenters Shahid Kapur and R. Madhavan, scintillating performances and classy sets made it a night to remember.
