How Katrina Kaif Began Her Bollywood Journey

Initially, when Katrina had first entered the Bollywood film industry in 2003 with ‘Boom‘, directed by Kaizad Gustad, no one had expected her to last too long. After all:
Katrina was a young woman fresh out of London who could not speak Hindi at all.
She knew little about Indian culture and was a total outsider.
Born out of the union of an English mother and a Kashmiri father, she had spent most of her young life living in England.
Not only that, she also knew little about the nuances of acting and even less about Bollywood films.

So basically, she knew absolutely nothing about films and acting, about the movie culture in India. No dancing skills, no knowledge of Hindi – who could have fathomed that seven years later, she would be ruling Bollywood. Agreed looks can take you places in the film and fashion industry but eventually, its your talent and character which takes you the top.
It is a tribute to the determination and will-power behind these soft looks that we have seen her go as far as she has done today. Not only is Katrina Kaif counted as one of the top actresses, but she also has innumerable endorsements in the advertising field. Above all has been given a variety of roles where she has proven her mettle.
And How She Moved On to Stardom
In her first super hit film, Namastey London, she played the role of a British girl opposite Akshay Kumar. Light and bubbly, it was the staple romance of rural boy meets foreign girl. The film was widely lauded as one of Katrina’s best performances and she even bagged a couple of awards for it. Incidentally, Namastey was Akshay Kumar’s last critically acclaimed film after which he has delivered some really mind numbing movies!
This was followed by many other hits such as Welcome, Apne and Partner. In Race, Katrina played a villainous girl, and managed to hold her own among stars such as Akshay Khanna, Saif Ali Khan and Bipasha Basu.
Her first big hit in 2010 was Rajneeti which further endorsed her acting abilities. A performance that Prakash Jha seems to have been modelled on Sonia Gandhi, she portrayed the role of a politician’s wife thrust into the limelight with consummate ease.
