1. ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ from ‘Tees Maar Khan’
This Vishal-Shekhar song was one of the biggest charbuster of the year. Katrina’s belly dance-isque movies scorched the screen along with the immensely catchy ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ tune. Download ‘Sheila Ki Jawani‘ and the remix of ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’.
2. ‘Munni Badnaam Hui’ from ‘Dabangg’
Lalit Pandit’s score set the entire country grooving with this folk-ish song. Malaika Arora Khan redefined the item song with her latkas and jhatkas. This song remained on the top of many top10 lists.
3. ‘Tere Mast Mast Do Nain’ from ‘Dabangg’
Salman and Sonakshi made the uber-romantic couple in Dabangg and created magic onscreen when nobody expected it. This was probably the only soft romantic song in the movie and the music was created by the Sajid-Wajid duo and Lalit Pandit.
4. Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji ’ from ‘ Ishqiya’
One masterpiece and one of the most memorable songs to ever come out of the B-factory, this song from Ishqiya lent soul to the story of the movie. Created by Vishal Bharadwaj, this song is minimalistic at its best.
5. ‘Zor ka Jhatka’ from ‘Action Replayy’
‘Zor Ka Jhatka’ is one hell of a song with catchy beats and a vibrant video. The retro look did little for the movie itself, but made the song videos fun to watch.
6. ‘Tere Naina’ from ‘My Name Is Khan’
When kohl-eyed Kajol is serenaded by the autistic Shahrukh, you need a song which immortalizes the romance and ‘Tere Naina’ is one such song. This is probably one of the best compositions of the Shankar Ehsan Loy trio.
7. ‘Ainvayi Ainvayi’ from ‘Band Baaja Baraat’
This was an unexpected hit and the new pair gained several fans with their Dilli mannerisms and antics. With this Salim-Sulaiman song, ‘Ainvayi’, a typical Delhi word which can be loosely translated to ‘just like that, gained its official place in the filmi lingo.
8. ‘Aapka Kya Hoga’ from ‘Dhanno from Housefull’
It’s all about packaging the ‘old wine in a new bottle’ and how so! ‘Aapka Kya Hoga(Dhanno)’ was a chartbuster all the way. Shankar Ehsan Roy rebottled the hit number and made it happening.
9. ‘Gal Mithi Mithi’ from ‘Aisha’
‘Gal Mithi Mithi’ was quite a foot-tapping number and a favorite of all top-10 lists. The golden boy Amit Trivedi has certainly made his mark in this short time that he has been creating music in the Hindi film industry. 10. ‘Mora Piya’ from ‘Raajneeti’
This melody of music director Aadesh Shrivastav has a haunting feel. ‘Mora Piya’ has a certain quality which makes it feel sound very rustic yet romantic. It was on top of many music charts even when the movie had gone down. If you are a fan of remixes you can download Mora Piya Remixes too.
11. ‘Pee Loon’ from ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai’
Another hit from Pritam’s kitty, ‘Pee Loo’ is a definite winner. A song for all seasons, it gets you humming whenever you hear it.
12. ‘Sajda’ from ‘My Name is Khan’
‘Sajda’ was a very popular song from MNIK. Shankar, Ehsan and Loy gave some soul-stirring music in this one.
13. ‘Chori Kiya Re Jiya’ from ‘Dabangg’
Lalit Pandit and Sajid-Wajid created yet another winner with this song. ‘Chori Kiya Re’ made the romance of Chulbul Pandey and his sweetheart throb with emotion.
14. ‘Maahi (Dil Roye Ya Ilahi)’ from ‘Raaz – The Mystery Continues’
This song from Sharib-Toshi is immensely hummable and is one of the best songs of the year. The presence of Emraan Hashmi and Kangana Ranaut made the song all the more appealing.
15. ‘Surili Akhiyon Wale’ from ‘Veer’
Sajid-Wajid’s melodious tunes made waves even though the movie didn’t. A really nice song that soothes the heart and one which is definitely different than most songs of today’s times.
16. ‘Papa Jaag Jaega’ from ‘Housefull’
Once again the Shankar-Ehsan-Loy trio hit home. This song was a major money grosser for the movie.
17. ‘Tum Jo Aaye Zindagi Me’ from ‘Once Upon a Time in Mumbai ‘
‘Tum Jo Aaye Zindagi Me’ was one of the best songs of the movie album. Pritam is extremely dependable as far as giving some catchy tune is concerned, doesn’t matter if so much of his work is “inspired” from other songs.
18. ‘Humka Peeni Hai’ from ‘Dabangg’
When Robinhood Pandey says ‘Humka Peeni Hai’ you can’t help singing along. So infectious is the local cop’s “Dabangg” flavor and so compelling his mannerisms that you get completely smitten by him.
19. ‘Chhan Ke Mohalla ’ from ‘Action Replayy’
Chhan Ke Mohalla has a rustic charm. The continuously changing high and low notes of the song added lots to the mood of the song and the melody of this number made it extremely hummable.
20. ‘Aas Paas Hai Khuda’ from ‘Anjaana Anjaani’
Vishal-Shekhar’s score grabbed lots of appreciation with this song. The movie was a dud at the Bo, but some songs, especially ‘Aas Paas Hai Khuda’ made waves.
21. ‘Uff Teri Ada’ from ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’
It’s amazing how Shankar Ehsan Loy continue to produce marvelous music in so many movies every year. ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’ was a major flop and so were most of its songs, but the ‘Uff Teri Ada’ score “rocked on” and was a major hit.
22. ‘Ajab Leher’ from ‘Break ke Baad’
Vishal-Shekhar are the duo who belt out several memorable tunes per year. ‘Ajab Lehar’ is one such song which keeps you humming along several hours after watching the movie.
23. ‘Bin Tere’ from ‘I Hate Luv Storys’
Vishal Shekhar are at the top of their game and though this song is rather different than the pair’s typical trademark stuff, ‘Bin Tere’ grabs a corner in your mind as soon as you hear the song for the first time… and it’s real hard to get it out of there. 24. ‘Dooriyan Hai Zaroori’ from ‘Break ke Baad’
This is a sad romantic song composed by music directors Vishal Shekhar. Sung by Vishal Dadlani, this song brings out the essence of the movie.
