Kambhakt Ishq Movie Review

kambakht-ishq-akshay-kareena

With a guest billing of stars such as Sylvester Stallone and Denise Richards, and Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor as the hero and heroine, Kambakkht Ishq was one of the most awaited films of the year.

Unfortunately the film has not lived up to its expectations. A trite storyline, bad acting and a highly emotional second half, add to the woes of the film. It began life as being an entertaining comedy film, but somewhere along the line, the scriptwriter seems to have lost his way and voila! We have a mixture of two films and both of them of a rather poor quality.

Akshay Kumar plays the role of a successful Hollywood stuntman, who hates commitment and marriage. One would have thought that this was a role tailor-made for him, since he has always fostered a macho image in the industry. Kareena’s size zero body suits her role as a supermodel and an aspiring surgeon.

However, it is the ridiculous storyline that seems to have caused the mismatch in the film. A watch in someone’s stomach – left there by an inept surgeon – and her attempts to get her patient back on the surgery table – somehow all this seems beyond the comprehension of sane human beings.

The first half does have a lot of good comedy portions, and in many scenes we see vignettes of Akshay’s superb comedy timings. With a supporting cast of such stalwarts as Boman Irani, Kirron Kher and Javed Jaffery, we expected some superb entertainment. It is there, but only in bits and pieces.

But frankly, this is not a film which we would recommend too highly. See it if you must, and especially if you are a fan of Kareena and Akshay, because, if nothing else – they both look fabulous in this film.

I am out of India at present, and was eagerely waiting to see a new movie. Kambhaqt Ishq looked quiet an entertainer from its promos. However, I was so disaappinted after watching this movie that this is the first time I am posting my comments online.

Kamhaqt Ishq is a movie which probably shouldnt have taken more than 2 days to complete. It has absolutely no story line, no comedy, and no entertainment, except unnecessary usage of vocubalary which people in the movie claim to be the part of modern era. I belong from this era and stay in New York, I have never seen usage of such language anywhere. but According to kareena Kapoor, this movie is not meant for oscars. I would like to say forget oscars please make movies for ordians. This movie has such a pathetic comedy perhaps, no comedy at all. Kareena looks so dried up in the movie. In the very first scene her skin under eyes are so sunken and she looks so old that there seems to be absolutely no difference in Akshays and her age. she looks like an ant whose blood has been sucked out. Gorgeous is the last thing she is looking. She is loud when it comes to publicity and thinks that she is the so called no.1. perhaps she should take dance lessons from her own sister Karishma Kapoor. Earlier actresses would hardly spend so long hours on publicity as they were so dam talented and the competition was so intense as everyone on block used to be extremely talented. Kareena looks a lady who is only there to stand on dice and be loud. Akshay Kumar has done this movie just like his other movies where he really dosent know what the script is all about.

Javed Jaffrey-There is absolutely no comedy for him to do. And the director of the movie, I would say he can go back to school.
