I am an avid listener of music. I have been listening to Bollywood music, English pop and soft rock for the last 33 years and I can proudly say that I can feel which song is going to be a ‘hit’. If anybody sees my collection of music, they will find only hits. I sometimes dream that if any one asks for my opinion from the Industry for their music and go with my suggestions, they will definitely have hits on their albums. But alas it is a dream….So here are some of my personal favourite hindi songs from 2014.
- Ang laga de (Ramleela) -This is the most sensual number I have heard after Jaane do na from Saagar. Aditi Paul is very talented and has a very sexy voice and Sanjay has done a marvelous job as a music director. The lyrics of this song reminds of balmy summer nights with your lover in some exotic Caribbean cabin.
- Meherban (Bang Bang) – The song from Bang Bang is one of my favorites because it’s a classic romantic number with good music and Shekhar and Shilpa Rao playback is very good. Shilpa should sing more. Both Hrithik and Katrina are looking hot and sexy and the location is very good.
- Manwa Lage (Happy New Year) – After a long time, Shreya has got a song to sing. Not like Ashiqui-2 where she got only one line to sing. She has done full Justice to the song with good music and picturisation of the song.
- Galliyan – Shradha Kapoor version is very good I keep listening to it on loop.
- Phir mili Tanhai (Artist: Zoe Viccaji; Album: Darreche; Genre: Pop) — I was seeing MTV Indies where I heard this song and was hooked with the voice and I can say that she is a mind blowing singer with likes of our singers such as Shreya, Sunidhi, Shilpa Rao, Anushka, Neeti Mohan. If Zoe comes to our country she will be an asset to our industry.
- Keep me in your Memories (Zoe Viccaji) — Another great track from Zoe.
- Titli (Chennai Express) – Chinnmaya is done a fabulous job. Music and Deepika are good.
- Dil tu hi Baata (Krrish 3) – I know it is a old to the list but I can’t help whenever I hear this song It gives me Goosebumps.
- Har kisi ko (Boss) – Good music is what makes this song worth hearing.
- Kill Dill (Kill Dill) – This number remind me of old English theme song from the Good,The Ugly and the bad. The music and play back by shanker mahadevan and sonu nigam are marvelous. In coming months it will be a chartbuster.
- Dil Pe Maar de Goli (Tamenchey)- Superb music by Krsna and vocals by Bappi da is very good.
- Lovely (Happy New Year) – Kanika Kaooor and Ravinder have done good jab with vocals. Its got arab and salsa groove which makes this number special. When heard and saw the song I liked what Deepika and Fraha Chereography has done to the song. As usal Deepika is looking sexy in the song.
- Hangover (Kick) – One word – Salman.
- Yaar Na Miley (Kick)- Singers Jasmine Sandlas and Honey Singh when I heard this song I was hooked to its beat, rhythm and voice and when I saw the song it was a surprise to see Nargis dancing so freely. The hook in the song is like it never leaves you its like on a loop in your mind.
These are my favorite songs because I like them I don’t accept you to like them but if you do please write to me because I have a good ear and I know the pulse of the listener because I am one of them.
